The hike leads through the forests and across the Ermelosche Heide. Guided by nature guide Gerard Hendriks. It's always a treat to wander around this area in the evening. The guide can tell you everything about it!

As wildlife leaves its cover in the evening and could be disturbed, dogs are not allowed.

Dancing trees of Three

November 14th

The sheep pen is organizing a long walk to the Sprielderbos. Enjoy the special route and locations a nature guide will guide you along.

A brisk pace will be kept during the walk.

Prices:
The fee for adults is €4 per person. Children up to 12 years of age pay €2. Friends of the Schapedrift Foundation participate free of charge.

Walk in search of wildlife

through 28 October 2021

Looking for wildlife in Leuvenum with a small group led by guide Henk Dik. You have a chance of seeing roe deer, deer and wild boars.

On the way, the guide will point out signs that indicate the presence of animals. The length of the walk is approximately 7 kilometers. Before you set off, you will receive a short presentation from the guide. Walks may be canceled in the event of an unfavorable weather forecast. Reservations are required and can be made via telephone number 0341-552200.

Autumn walk

An excursion in the vicinity of the Ermelo sheepfold. Thanks to autumn the forest is showing its beautiful colors and and offers many beautiful experiences. One of the nature guides will be happy to show you around.

Lambing Day

April 2, 2022

Saturday, April 2, from 10 AM to 4 PM, the Schaapskooi, a sheepfold in Ermelo, is hosting another Lambing Day. This is a festive day with lots of activities for all ages.

Everything revolves around the lambs born in the flock. These can be admired in the sheepfold with the mother sheep. On the grounds, there are sheep driving demonstrations, covered wagon tours across the moors, puppet shows, arts and crafts, and face painting. Of course, all kinds of delicacies are available, too. It is also possible to adopt a lamb in order to help preserve the Ermelo flock and sheepfold.

Christmas market

December 17th 2022

On Saturday December 17th, the traditional Veluwe Christmas market in the center of Ermelo provides the necessary atmosphere. Everyone is welcome again between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm to enjoy the many stalls in the Stationsstraat.

Tons of atmosphere and coziness during the Veluwe Christmas market in Ermelo.
In addition to all Christmas and winter related items and products, there are also commercial stalls with all kinds of items. The entire village will be beautifully lit and there will be eye-catchers on various squares.

The Christmas market is in the pedestrian zone. There is plenty to eat and of course the mulled wine is not lacking either. Above all, it is a great opportunity to buy Christmas presents and to get a taste of the atmosphere around Christmas.

Nightjar tour

This year we will again organize a bee cycling tour in Ermelo. A guide will take you on a cycling tour past beautiful nature areas. Afterwards, a beekeeper will tell you everything about keeping bees.

Staverden covered wagon tour

Would you like to explore the beautiful nature around Ermelo in a relaxed way? In that case, it might be a nice idea to join this covered wagon tour! Whatever the weather, a covered wagon ride is always a success and a very special experience!

The covered wagon rides take place every Wednesday through October, if there are sufficient people that participate, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. In an hour you will experience the most beautiful places in Staverden. The ride takes you along authentic avenues, historic buildings and the stream valley of the Hierdense beek. The head coachman was born in Staverden and knows a lot about the history of Staverden.

Winter walk with horn blowing

End of Year walk

December 31st 2022

Finishing off the old year with a walk with a nature guide over the heath and through the surrounding forest. During the walk, attention is paid to animal tracks and birds in winter. Enjoy a lovely Dutch 'oliebol' in the visitor's enter afterwards.
